What’s new in the Apifon Salesforce Connector
This update expands the connector’s feature set with new tools designed to support richer messaging experiences and smarter delivery control. Alongside core SMS and Viber messaging, the connector now includes advanced Viber formats, Do Not Disturb scheduling, built-in URL tracking, and secure delivery callbacks.
SMS messaging
Apifon’s Salesforce Connector allows you to set up and send SMS campaigns directly from Salesforce. To maximize reach and reliability, Viber-to-SMS failover can be enabled by default.
If a message sent via the primary channel (Viber) cannot be delivered, it is automatically rerouted and sent via SMS. This ensures uninterrupted communication and helps maximize delivery rates even when the primary channel is unavailable.
Viber messaging
Viber enables brands to move beyond plain text and deliver rich, interactive messages. Messages can include images, videos, files, buttons, and structured layouts, helping create more engaging customer experiences.
The connector supports all Viber message types, making it easy to tailor content to different use cases.
New advanced Viber formats: Carousel & List messages
This release introduces advanced interactive Viber formats, available directly from Salesforce:
- With Viber Carousel messages, brands can showcase up to five rich cards in a single message. Each card supports an image, headline, description, and up to two CTA buttons, allowing users to swipe through products or offers without leaving the conversation.
- Viber List messages allow brands to present up to five selectable options within a single message. Recipients can simply tap their choice to respond instantly, reducing friction and streamlining interactions.
Do Not Disturb (DND) settings
The new Do Not Disturb functionality gives brands full control over when messages are delivered. You can define specific time periods to pause or block messaging campaigns, ensuring customers are contacted only at appropriate times.
DND settings support flexible scheduling, including multiple quiet windows within the same day and time ranges that extend into the next day, such as late-night to early-morning hours. Quiet hours can be automatically enforced after a defined cut-off time, while all rules are applied based on the recipient’s local timezone.
Messages triggered during a DND window can be automatically blocked or queued and sent immediately after the quiet period ends, supporting compliance without disrupting campaign logic.
Shortened & tracking URLs
With built-in URL shortening and tracking, brands gain clearer visibility into campaign engagement across SMS and Viber.
Links are automatically shortened within message bodies, and click tracking is enabled once a link is shortened. This allows teams to track engagement, understand how recipients interact with messages sent from Salesforce, and use those insights to optimize campaigns and customer journeys.
Authenticated callback URL for real-time delivery insights
Apifon’s Authenticated Callback URL enables secure, real-time delivery of message status updates to your systems.
Message events such as sent, delivered, failed, or opened are delivered via authenticated HTTPS callbacks, ensuring trusted data exchange. These real-time insights allow teams to monitor performance more effectively and optimize messaging strategies with greater confidence.
