Linux Junior Server Administrator

We are looking for a Linux administrator who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring the infrastructure; also, to collaborate with other team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes. You will become an integral part of the team, making every problem of the platform a problem of your own, and solving them accordingly.

Main responsibilities:


  • ○ Efficient enough to manage all internet applications inclusive to DNS, RADIUS, Apache, MySQL,PHP. Taking frequent back up of data, create new storage procedures and scheduled back up is one of the duties.
    ○ Reviewing of all the error logs and fixing it is another duty along with providing superior customer support for Webhosting, ISP and LAN Customers on troubleshooting escalated support troubles.
    ○ Communicating with the staff, vendors and customers in a courteous, professional manner at all times has to be one of his traits.
    ○ Installing the necessary procedures and security tools. He works with the Data Network Engineer and other personnel/departments to analyze hardware requirements and alternatives and make acquisition recommendations.
    ○ Upgrade the softwares installed on to the server, including upgrading virus softwares and code upgrades.
    ○ Ability to work with Linux-friendly applications and able to troubleshoot it when issue arises from the server.
    ○ Monitoring of servers is also one of his important duties.

Skills:


  • ○ Experience with Linux servers in virtualized environments
    ○ Familiarity with the fundamentals of Linux scripting languages
    ○ Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as Bind, Apache, MySQL, nginx, etc.
    ○ Strong grasp on configuration management tools, such as Puppet and Chef
    ○ Familiarity with load balancing, firewalls, etc.
    ○ Proficient with network tools such as iptables, Linux IPVS, HAProxy, etc.
    ○ Experience with virtualization technologies, such as Xen
    ○ Ability to build and monitor services on production servers
    ○ Knowledge of servers and switches

Required Education and Experience:


  • ○ Requires bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or mastery level skill in LAN support.
    ○ Three years of experience providing LAN support in UNIX/Linux environment.
